In the past, Sports Medicine was perceived as a discipline concerned only with repairing athletes’ traumatic injuries. Today, sports medicine is now recognized as a medical science that is expanding the understanding of the body’s integrated response to all forms of physical activity. The sports medicine team at Dayton Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine provides a customized, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of all types of athletic injuries to the shoulder, knee and ankle of amateur athletes as well as the weekend warrior.
